Non Verbal Communication for Instrumental - Charlie

This is my Non Verbal Communication (NVC) grid for one of my sections of the song  which is the instrumental and I've written what the audience will see and how the appearance of the actors will look like and hopefully look and act the way fans of Miles Kane would expect from his own music videos.

Compared to this I have also looked at Miles Kane's video "Inhaler" and picked out the NVC's in his video that his target audience recognize.

Costume: Miles Kane and his band wear similar outfits. These consist of smart shirts, jeans that are normally darek ( yet his are red) smart black shoes and dark flat mullet style or curly hair. This gives off a casual everyday appearance.

Posture: Throughout the video, Miles' posture is quite straight for a man. However, occasionally he does arch over his guitar when playing to show a sign of concentration. Sometimes he is jumping around and having a good time with his band members and once or twice leans over the stage to hold hands and communicate with the audience that are watching.

Facial Expressions: Miles does smile quite a lot within this music video when he is back stage with his band and relaxing in parties which shows he is quite relaxed. When performing, he does emphasis and has a very mouth when singing so he is easily read and fits in perfect with the beat. Sometimes when singing he closes his eyes and squints which shows seriousness yet showing how he is thinking about singing the lyrics and again concentrating.

Gestures: Near the beginning of the performance he points to the audience which is at us due to the P.O.V angle which shows he wants to get the attention of the audience (us). He moves his feet and clicks his fingers and claps his hands throughout the video and either practices or pretends to play the guitar in dressing rooms backstage

Space: There are lots of close ups in the video with him and when he is playing the guitar to emphasis the importance of the use of instruments in his band along with close ups of fans the the instruments. There are also long shots when is is performing to show the interaction with the audience, him in different locations like dressing rooms and parties and mid shots of the band playing with some close ups of them as well.

Voice: Miles has quite a slightly high pitch voice and changes near the ends of verses by lowering his pitch and then it raises when he is singing the chorus along with other singers voices being added on as well.
