Content
·         Hard to pin point particular bands many that spring to mind are the arctic monkeys & oasis – different as he is just a lone artist with a backing band. Mix between indie and rock
·         Video released in 2011 shows how his image clearly, “Inhaler” goes against conventions of normal indie music videos and uses footage of a live performance,  and backstage clips to make a music video normally seen in rock music videos
·         Done by arctic monkeys in “don’t sit down cus I moved your chair” video, no storyline very similar
·         These clips are short 5 seconds max fast paced.
·         Edits are used slow motion and zooming in and out on specific clips (him playing his guitar or backstage getting ready to come on stage.
·         Press praise him for doing amazing live gigs and this maybe where this notion of performance has come from as clips of audience members  looking happy is good J
·         For our music video we will try are best to maintain these conventions whilest adding narrative to our music video to score the best marks we can
·         As miles kane videos lack in narrative we have had to look at other bands that are similar such as the arctic monkeys
Narrative:
  • ·         We would like are location to be in a working class area as we understand that this fits with the conventions of indie Brit pop style.
  • ·          snooker hall Beeston, local working man’s pub and a council terrace house
  • ·         mise en scene should be a mod look
  • ·         performance,  we will have a band we will film performing
  • ·         using the camera in black and white or having gritty low lighting
  • ·         looking at the lyrics the song isn’t so narrative either
  • ·         Thinking of having dancers “tango foxtrot” ballroom or dancers at a workings mans club or hall for a classier look.
