Digipak research-HUMBUG (Arctic Monkeys)

The Front is appropriate to the genre because it shows the band in a very everyday light. Making them appealing to everyday people, because they are seemingly easy to relate to. The mise-en-scene shows the band in clothing that is available to everyone. The setting looks like it is regularly used because the paint isn't smooth everywhere. The lighting makes the setting look very washed out and 'real'.  The body language of the band shows them to act like everyone else, and thus makes the band appeal to and indie audience.

The back cover is very plain, the font used for the name of the band is the only interesting feature on the back, this is helpful to draw attention to the name of the band, and help sell them as it makes the name memorable.

The CD is in brown and looks very 'rusted' fitting in with the 'used' theme that runs in the Front cover. The Initials of the band name are 'Branded' on the CD meaning that even without the cover, you would recognise who the CD was from.

The Font is very plain, apart from the name of the band, the band are featured on the album cover and are dressed in the expected clothing of an indie band, the setting is also very indie. All of this helps to sell the band and what genre they are.
